Our Vision and Values
Our vision and ambition for every child at Pluckley is encapsulated in the paragraph below:
At Pluckley Church of England Primary School we aim to provide the ‘rich soil’ for our community; nurturing and cultivating all, to thrive and to achieve their full potential. |
This is further summarised in our theologically rooted purpose: "Together We Thrive" which is derived from Mark 4: 3-8: "In the right soil, every single seed can grow and achieve its God given potential."
From this vision and ambition the we have formed our "Pillars Of Intent" or our Aims for the children of Pluckley Church of England Primary School; we work tirelessly to create:
-
A community of resilient and ambitious individuals who strive for outstanding outcomes, who use their initiative and are unafraid of making mistakes.
-
A community of successful learners with a thirst for knowledge who are curious and self-motivated to learn and achieve.
-
A community with a strong spiritual foundation who thrives by embodying our REFLECT values in all that they think, say and do.
-
A community provided with a range of strategies to support positive mental health; enabling them to live fulfilled and happy lives.
-
A community of confident and responsible individuals which has a strong sense of togetherness and strives to make a positive contribution both now and in the future.
Our Reflect Values
Our pupils know that we are a Church of England Primary School and understand how this makes our school unique. As a church school, Christian teachings and values underpin everything we do (refer also to Our Christian Distinctiveness tab for further information). We teach, share and model our school REFLECT values and the children are able to link them to Bible stories and explain how they apply them to their learning and wider life.
Children at Pluckley Church of England Primary School are encouraged to value:
-
Respect, by valuing the diversity, rights and property of others
-
Endeavour, by striving to achieve our best and also valuing the achievements of others
-
Friendship, by showing consideration to others
-
Leadership, by understanding that we are all leaders of our own learning
-
Enjoyment, through active involvement in school life and making the most of our opportunities
-
Cooperation, by working together appropriately to achieve our aims
-
Trust, by having faith and confidence in each other to guide us on our journey together
And to REFLECT upon their learning and actions at all times,
Our children are also actively encouraged to reject:
